Getting around Aonang & Krabi
Motorcycle:
Taxis & Public Transport:
Taxis (called "tuk tuks" here) are available in all public areas. The price needs to be negotiated. From and to the airport, is usually about 500 baht.
Note that you cannot book Grab and other transport companies to pick you up at the Krabi International Airport, as the airport supports the local community needs.
However, TEFL International Krabi picks you up and drops you off during the course. Just send us your flight itinerary.
Public buses (called Songtaeews" here) look like red or white pick up trucks with covered seating in the back. They go to krabi town, and many of the tourist attractions if you don;t have a moto.
Most locals and visitors use a motorcycle to get around the communities here. You can rent slower "scooters" or super-fast bikes daily, weekly or monthly.
If you need a "moto" for the duration of your stay on the course, let us know and we will reserve one for you with our Moto partner Nikki at Aonang Moto Rental.
Nikki not only gives TEFL International Krabi students a discount, but he is one of the kindest men we know in Aonang.
Very reliable if you ever get stuck!
