By Land or Water
Adventure starts before you arrive! Cruise to Phuket by ferry in just 2–3 hours, taking in the stunning Andaman Sea along the way.
Exploring further? The Myanmar border, east of Krabi, is just a 5–6 hour drive or bus journey, making cross-border adventures easy.
Heading south? Reach the Padang Besar border with Malaysia in approximately 5 hours by road. (If you're planning a visa run, allow a little extra time for border formalities.)
Getting Around Ao Nang
Exploring Ao Nang is easy, affordable, and part of the adventure! Whether you prefer the freedom of two wheels or the convenience of local transport, you'll have no trouble discovering everything this beautiful region has to offer.
Taxis & Public Transport
Local taxis, known as tuk-tuks, are easy to find throughout Ao Nang. Fares are negotiated before you travel, and a typical journey to or from Krabi International Airport costs around 500 baht.
Please note that ride-hailing services such as Grab are not permitted to pick up passengers from Krabi International Airport, as the airport supports local transport providers.
The good news? TEFL International Krabi provides complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off for all course participants. Simply send us your flight itinerary, and we'll take care of the rest!
For an authentic local experience, hop aboard a Songtaew—the red or white pickup trucks with covered seating in the back. These inexpensive shared buses regularly travel between Ao Nang, Krabi Town, and many of the area's top attractions, making them a great option if you don't have a motorcycle.
Motorcycle
Renting a motorcycle is the most popular and flexible way to explore Ao Nang and the surrounding beaches, viewpoints, and hidden gems. It's the perfect option if you want to travel at your own pace and venture off the beaten track.
