For more than 30 years, Michael FitzGerald has dedicated his career to helping people become confident, successful English teachers. Since earning his first teaching qualification in Ireland in 1994, he has taught, trained, observed, and mentored thousands of teachers across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Michael's career has spanned almost every area of English language teaching, including Business English, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Cambridge, IELTS and TOEFL preparation, TESOL, pronunciation, CLIL, STEM, critical thinking, young learners, university programs, and teacher training. Along the way, he has managed language schools, directed teacher education programs, and developed innovative educational initiatives for private institutions, universities, governments, and international organizations.
His international experience includes leading a government-funded language and settlement program in Canada, serving as Head of Teacher Training for a Trinity CertTESOL programme in Spain, contributing as Special Projects Officer for TESOL Spain, and working with organizations such as UNESCO and AIESEC (UK). He has also published educational resources and presented at conferences throughout Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Today, as Managing Director and Lead Trainer at TEFL International Krabi, Michael combines decades of global experience with a practical, supportive approach to teacher education. His philosophy is simple: the best teachers are developed through expert guidance, real classroom practice, and the confidence that comes from hands-on experience.
