To build understanding and friendships with Khmer & Thai People

Bonus course content includes:

Khmer language and culture, so you can teach in Cambodia without looking completely lost.

Practical strategies for connecting with students, including spotting different learning styles and wrangling even the most chaotic classrooms.

Hands-on teaching practice with Khmer and Thai language learners—because nothing says “learning” like diving in and hoping your lesson plan survives.

Plenty of opportunities to build lasting friendships on both sides of the border—because the best souvenirs are the people you meet.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Teaching English or IT at the Rubbish School in Siem Reap alongside Kimleng—where the name may sound chaotic, but the learning is seriously good.

Teaching in a nearby Cambodian village—where your lessons may start in a classroom and end up becoming the talk of the whole village.

Kimleng built the Rubbish School during COVID,

inspired by a simple idea that helped shape TEFL International Krabi:

"Exchanging Kindness for Education."

Today, the Rubbish School still depends on volunteers to keep the good work going—and to make sure the lights stay on, the lessons keep flowing, and Kimleng doesn’t have to run the whole operation on pure determination and coffee. As our Sapphire Ambassador, Kimleng will match you with volunteer opportunities that suit your skills—whether you're a natural teacher, a tech wizard, or simply excellent at being helpful.

Give 5–6 hours to a volunteer project through the Sapphire Program, and Kimleng will thank you with a guided day at Angkor Wat, plus professional photos at the world’s largest religious complex. In other words: a little volunteering, a little sightseeing, and a lot of bragging rights.

A little kindness goes a long way—and sometimes it comes with temple views, great photos, and a story your friends will be tired of hearing about for years.

Friendship Tour of Angkor Wat

Explore the world's largest religious complex on an exclusive Friendship Tour created just for TEFL International Krabi students.

Led by professional photographer Kimleng Sang, you'll get stunning photos of Angkor Wat—no awkward arm-stretching selfies required.

Along the way, visit temples, markets, and villages, practise your Khmer with locals, and make a few new friends. In other words: learn, laugh, and collect memories that are much better than anything from the gift shop.
